Raw cannabis in vaporizable form is on the agenda for a Senate Judiciary subcommittee meeting this morning at 11:30 a.m. Senate Study Bill 1113 (SSB 1113) adds vaporized cannabis to the list of approved forms in Iowa and increases the number of dispensaries from three to ten.
Iowa should seek a federal exemption under 21 U.S.C. § 822(d) for these manufacturers and distributors, so consumers are protected by 21 U.S.C. § 822(c)(3). The legislature needs to address this.
The limited number of manufacturing and distribution licenses in Iowa make it unlikely anyone without intent to violate federal drug law is even eligible to apply.
How did it become the policy of our state to promote violation of federal drug law?
